March Madness
Sassy has always been interested in weaving ticking. Ticking
a sturdy fabric was woven during Colonial times. Made of fine
linen it was sett at 45 ends to an inch in 3/1 twill.
So, this sample piece is a hybrid made of cottolin (cotton and linen)
sett at 24 ends to the inch in a twill pattern. There is enough warp
to re-sley at 30 ends as a second choice.
The goal is a sturdy fabric without being stiff.
A little March madness as the wind blows and the snow keeps
arriving.
