Designated Weaver
Yesterday Sassy participated in a weaving class at the Adirondack Folk Art School. Rug weaving is a new venue for the Sassy One. So, the daughters opted that Sassy would be the designated learner and return home to teach them.
The photos illustrate a variety of warps in different colors and how the sock loop wefts create random patterns. The first photo shows the loops which are co-joined to form long strands of weft. Think pot holder loops. The loops shown above are stretchy cotton sock cuffs... pull 3 loops through 3 loops and then add the previous weft length by pulling it through the opening. Easier to do than to describe.
A lovely afternoon with the other three participants and the friendly teacher... A delightful camaraderie emerged as the first snow flurries sent the warning signs of winter to come.

I wish I had learned to weave before giving away my table loom.
