Woodworking/Weaving
Husband... a woodworking guru... was the craftsman who made the burl bowl which holds our weft strips.
Husband has now replicated the small wooden shuttles in the photo based on a shuttle Sassy purchased at at weaving seminar forty plus years ago. (A shuttle no longer available.)
The shuttles are made of one inch square cherry, cut into 2.5 grooves to a 3/8th inch depth on both sides with a dado cutter. Then they were tapered on the jigsaw, filed and sanded. They were finished with two coats of cherry stain and four coats of polyurethane.
Aren't they splendid?
