Designated Driver

We all know about 

the designated driver.

It is the good friend tapped 

to drive everyone home

when the ball is over.

Well, I am working 

with a mitten pattern

that requires each needle

to carry its own sequence...

a designated needle, if you will.

Not new for some folks

but a new twist

for this old knitter.

I enjoy watching

each pattern emerge

and then blend into

a circular whole...

a panorama.

Makes me wonder 

on this chilly October morning

about life's separate parts...

how to knit them together

more gracefully...

create a more artistic fabric.
