2008

Endings and new beginnings
are bittersweet.

My mother used to say
every New Year's Eve,
"You know what you have..."
Her eyes would fill with tears as
the ball dropped in Times Square.

At all other times
she was the consummate
Pollyanna.

For the new year
I am reading Sue Bender's book:
_Stretching Lessons: The Daring
that Starts from Within_.

I long to stretch in many ways.

I'm knitting with soy
- a yarn choice new to me-
in a lovely shade of camel.

Soy has the propensities of silk
with an optimum of elasticity.

Thus, it's my nod to
stretching my knitting.

I'm listening to a CD
titled "Celtic Women"
and riding an Irish wave
into 2008.

Stretch! Be Daring!

God Bless.

Pat, such lovely lovely thoughts, as usual. It's beautiful that you remember some of those things your mother said such as her New Year comment. She'd be smiling down on you right this moment, watching you stretch and grow.
