Knitting For Evan
The goal is to knit a hybrid:
not a bootie and not a sock.
The bootie/sock in the photo
was knit with Bernat Softee Baby
(100% acrylic... "Little Boy Blue") Evan is a Texas baby.
No wool needed.
Cast on 36 stitches. K1, P1 for 2.25 inches. Decrease down to 32
stitches. Knit 8 rows. Put in a short row heel. Knit for four inches.
I used Cat Borhi's Star Toe method. K3, k 2 tog.
Knit. Knit 2, knit 2tog. K. K1, k2 tog.
Knit 2 tog for a rnd.
Seven stitches were left after the final decrease.
With a six inch length of yarn draw the toe
together. Weave in all ends.
This post is meant to prompt the memory when it is time to make
the boot/sock's mate.
Stay cool!
