September Entrelac

We pruned the alder bush to bare bones.
Sassy photographed  the entrelac sample
in the September sun.

This  piece was knitted on size two needles
using a fingering weight yarn. Knitted
in the round it's the Sassy one's equivalent
of a kindergarten level knitting gold medal.

Hours of youtube watching and many
false starts were required to create
this minor almost self taught masterpiece.

Totally exhausted Sassy will require
a respite before she tackles
a full blown project in this
technique.

However, it holds all the charm
of braids and there is a pattern
for Harlequin slippers knitted
using entrlac.

I'm not promising anything but
the temptation is there.

*Entrelac is a knitting technique used
to create a textured diamond pattern.
While the result resembles basket-woven strips
of knitted fabric, the actual material comprises
interconnected squares on two different orientations.
