This is my Ann with an e hat.
You see: I am on this hat binge.
And if you remember from an earlier post
I had decided that my knitted hats should be
named for my favorite fictional characters.
Anne of course is Anne Shirley the MC
in _Anne of Green Gables_.
White wool trimmed with blue
the hat was knitted from the
top down and finished with
ear-flaps and braids.
I have always had a penchant
for braids.
Think:
_Anne of Green Gables_: Anne
_Little House on the Prairie_: Laura
_Wizard of Oz_: Dorothy
And I've never done ear-flaps
or braids before.
Warning: braids are addictive,
such fun to make.
I may add braids to all my hats
from now on.
Yarn weight: heavy worsted
Size eight double pointed needles
Size ten circular needle for the body
Other variations to this hat design:
Thorpe by Kirsten Kapur may be found
on her blog: Through the Loops.
The hat demands mittens
don't you think?
With braided tassels?
I do get carried away.

Beautiful! I'd love to have that pattern in children's sizes for my grandkids.
Think:
Penny in winter...
(And hi, Carol!)
