Let's start with the back story.
We bought a new car.

So, the houses are having a fit
of jealousy. The NY house is having
a hot water coil repair on a repair
that was made six weeks ago.
The Florida house is having an
air conditioner repair on a unit
deemed fit last week.
How could we consider spending money
on anything but house needs?
Are you with me?
So, amid the packing boxes and bags
two on-needle socks are glaring at me.
"I'm the one to finish on the trip...
no choose me," says the other.
I'm telling them here and now.
Stop fussing or I'll stuff you both
in the bottom of the knitting bag
and start a baby sweater.
And another day like today and
you won't have a house to live in
either.
