Memorial Day
Sassy bought a geranium to lure the hummingbird to the deck,
a bright spot in a gray rainy holiday, only to remember her
mother's love for geraniums.
My grandfather died when my mother was ten. And my grandmother
would take her four children to the cemetery on Sunday to visit the
grave. Her plant of choice in Jersey City at the turn of the century
was red geraniums.
Tradition holds and memory lingers.

what a lovely memory. Red geraniums remind me so much of my dear mother too.
