Snood
Ms. Jame is interested in the 40's look. So, Sassy riffed on a pattern from the Australian Women's Weekly: Saturday March 1942.
Basically it is a 57 stitch chain. 2 dc in the 9th ch. Then (ch 6 dc in the 3rd chain) and repeat to the end. Turn, ch 6 make 1 dc in the middle of the ch 6 of the previous row, * 1 dc in the middle of the next 6, repeat. Sassy crocheted the repeat to 15 inches instead of the original 31 rows suggested.
Ch 6, 1 dc in the middle of ch 6 of previous row, ch. 3, 1 dc in the middle of ch 6, repeat to end.
Then crochet all the way around: 1 dc in each dc ( a departure from the original pattern.)
Ch 4 and treble in the first space ch 1 all the way around the circumference.
Make a 200 stitch chain, interweave and gather.
*Sassy did not reproduce the bow.
Happy Birthday again Ms. Jame.
