Going Straight

It must be at least two years
since I have knitted on straight needles.

My heart doesn't belong to Daddy
it belongs to round needles or
most days sets of 6" sock needles.

I broke the barrier today
and knit headbands lengthwise
on straight needles.

I had enough leftover Sassy Stripes
to make headbands out of leftover
sock yarn.

Talk about a trip.
You put on the length you want
and go baby, go.

Knit a row.
Rib a row ( I twisted the knit stitch
by knitting in the back of the stitch.)
Rib for 2 and 1/2 inches. Bind off.
Sew your work of abstract art work together.
Visualize Peruvian inkle-loom woven belts.

Say a prayer to the Goddess-of-Fiber-Arts
that that the dang headband fits.

The band stretches about 2 inches.

Knit  another one and another one.

I'm here to tell you,
it is addictive!

I'm going straight all the way.
