Torri Gate
Yesterday Jenn did a collage of a Torii gate
that she saw at a temple in Kyoto, Japan.
A Torii gate is most commonly found at the
entrance of or within a Shinto shrine, where
it marks symbolically the transition from the
mundane to the sacred.
How lovely! Some temples have enumerable gates.
So, I stitched a Torii gate to imagine transitioning
from the mundane to the sacred.
