Help! I'm Felting
Sassy has been tipping a toe into felting and then
drawing back into wait and see mode for months now.
The hat in the photo was based on the pattern:
"Felt Hat for Charity" by Aimee Leonhard.
Of course, Sassy took exception and used a smaller needle
#9 and a different yarn. (Felting only works for all wool.)
The hat has been ready for felting for several
weeks. Finally this weekend Ms. Jame pushed
Sassy off the cliff and said, "Go for it, Mom."
Using hot water in my new handy dandy washing
machine for about fifty minutes with intermittent agitation...
Success! You have it. Sassy's first felted hat.
I realize that for some folks it might still have too much stitch
definition but I'm happy.
Sassy is hooked... off on yet another tangent.

I want to buy pearls, too. Even if I don't knit with them, which I plan to do, I could sew them onto dresses I make for my granddaughters.

Let's try that again.
