Kusikiy a Child from Peru

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Mercedes
Cecilia the author and illustrator of a delightful children's
Kusikiy a Child from Peru.

Mercedes wrote the book, created paintings that she photographed
 and used as  illustrations. See the book's cover... one of
her paintings. The end result is charming.

Don't you love the hat? All the symbols have meaning in her
culture... although some of the symbols would probably not
appear in knitwear.

The book and author inspire creativity.

Let's get out the needles and design hats.
