Adirondack Adventure

Over the weekend the Sassy One and husband
journeyed to Queensbury, New York and attended
a local craft fair.  Sassy purchased the balsam pillow
in the photo... a rather miniature version one might say
but quite aromatic just the same. Just a gentle whiff
and childhood memories abound. Every summer
one kind adult or another would purchase a
a balsam pillow for Sassy as a remembrance
of her stay in the mountains.

One vendor at the fair was selling mittens made
from wool sweaters that had been felted
and then cut into mitten shapes with patterns
her husband had designed. They were
fleece lined and sewn into two layers.

They were beautiful and very warm,
quite bulky. They would be perfect
for long cold winters.

Be proud! I resisted the temptation to
buy a pair of mittens... not really
Florida wear.

They speak to a wonderful recycling effort
and extraordinary creativity. I'm sorry
that I missed the photo opportunity their
display offered.
