Knit A Novel

"Some years ago, author Alice Walker was given a grant to write;

she proceeded to move out to the the country where she spent
a year knitting. As she knit, the characters in _The Color Purple_
made themselves know to her, and the force of the stories
narrative gathered like rain clouds."

Wouldn't you like to know what Alice Walker was knitting?
What would you knit?
What story would you tell?

Yes, I'd love to know what she was knitting.
I would likely knit something I could gift to someone. Perhaps a lap blanket.
