Do you have notions?

The American Dictionary defines notion:

A fanciful impulse, a whim.

I'm given to notions.

Sometimes I fancy running a 4K

or climbing Big Slide...

You get the idea.

Definitely out of the realm of reality...

On these lazy summer days

I'm knitting mittens in

garter stitch.

I would suspect that makes

me a contrarian... mittens 

knitted in July would count

as an old woman's strange notion.

I'm noodling the concept

of knitting hats or scarves 

and naming them for my

favorite fictional characters:

i.e. an Ann with an e hat for

Ann Shirley, the MC in

_Anne of Green Gables_

or a lace scarf for Celestia

the MC in _Three Rivers Rising_

a soon to be published novel by

daughter #3.

I read in "Oprah" that happiness

is contagious to the sixth degree.

Sounds good to me.
