it's your daily recall of events of the immediate or faraway past

which you either entertain in your mind or retell to others."

"'Original' memory is so strong and vivid that, for an instant,

you relive the experience." It is usually provoked by 

a sensory experience.

Today I am knitting the sculptured sock

in the photograph above.

The pattern has catapulted me into an original

memory.

Many years ago we traveled across the country

to arrive in the Black Hills of North Dakota

as the sun was setting.

The color and texture of the sight

has always eluded me. Today

this little sock cuff has

revived the memory.

Seek an 'original' memory

and you shall find it.
