Bits and Bobs

Bits and bobs,
love that phrase.

It speaks to my mindset
at the moment.

I read an excerpt from the
forward to the new edition
of _House on Mango Street_.

Cisneros writes:

... to write stories
that ignore borders
between genres spoken and written,
between highbrow literature
and children's  nursery rhymes...

She experiments, creating a text
that is succinct and flexible as poetry,
snapping sentences into fragments...

Rewinding back to short rows
my knitting is succinct and flexible
and knit in fragments.

One could conclude
that my writing and my knitting
and probably my thinking are
all in harmony: fragmented.

I am best served by nursery rhymes.
Bits and bobs...
