Calorimetry

 Don't you love the word?
It is a head scarf that buttons in the back.

Done in 2 by 2 rib in with a plum colorway
it is a joy to knit.

I modified the original pattern to 100 stitches
and a size six needle.

I have that feeling you get when you eat
potato chips and chocolate chip cookies.
Just one won't do.

I started one on a 9 needle (because all my 8s were occupied and couldn't be reached for comment) and ran out of yarn just a few rows short. DARN! Franny cannot believe (that in allllll that stashshshshshshs) I don't have a compatible yarn to finish it with...but I'm just too close to have it be imperfect. Should I rip it out and start over on a smaller needle? Should I finish it with a mismatched border and call it funky? Whimsical? Intentionally unintentional?

One part of my head says that I was using up an odd end anyway for stash reduction---it would be counterproductive to start over, or tear out something else made in this yarn. And I want to start another one for my neighbor...

yes, great word. I wear something similar here in the winter but mine is all one piece. I love that this buttons. I bet it's something even a beginner could try?
