Years ago, in my other life, i.e.,
forty years ago, I was a weaver.
Now weavers have warping boards:
a board with lots of pegs upon which
they wind yards and yards of warp
to be transferred to the loom.
My warping board has always been
housed in the closet.
So, last night I took myself to the closet.
Stretched my lovely new skein between
two pegs and commenced to wind.
The winding motion produced a graceful flow,
an extended stretch, close to modern dance.
And rewarded me with a smooth well wound ball
One might say my time in the closet
was well spent.
And now that I'm out of the closet
I'm onto my knitting.

oh this is lovely Pat. I've heard from weavers that it's very rhythmic and soothing.
