Carousels

I am taking a writing class called

"Expressive Writing."

The theme is carousels and we
write vignettes based on different
perspectives attained from being
the rider on or bystander to the
merry-go-round.

Taken to the max
this concept of rider on
and observer of
the spinning carousel
initiates unless possibilities
for creative thought.
Try it.

And then yesterday I found
a pattern for a carousel horse.
A red, green, brown thick felted
horse. A throwback to the Middle Ages...

And we have a friend who carves
carousel horses for the Ringling
Circus museum.

In Saugerties
(a small town in upstate New York,
a former home for us)
a completely restored carousel
was auctioned off last year.
I must research where it
will be housed now.

I doubt I shall either knit or
carve a carousel horse. But I might
ride one again. I need a small
person to take my hand
and say Nana, "Let's ride."
My inner child is ready.

Care to join us?

How beautiful! I'm so glad you extended this invitation to us this morning.

The image of a carousel will be a pleasant one to recall throughout the day.

Absolutely! I've never grown "out of" carousels. I love them. They make me feel like a child and I won't hesitate to ride one. What a delightful and encouraging post.

Warmly,
Diane
